Kattakurgan to produce cement

ConstruConstruction of a cement production plant began in Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region, in cooperation with Chinese investors.

An opportunity for producing 2.4 million tons of cement per year will be created with implementation of this project worth 420 million USD.

Two-stage project implementation is planned. At the first stage envisaged for 2018-2020 at the expense of investments in the amount of 220 million USD, the block with a production capacity of 1.2 million tons of cement per year will be involved first. A permanent employment of 300 people will be provided.

The second stage will be implemented in 2020-2023 with creation of another 100 new jobs. The plant will produce cement brands M-400, M-500 (white and gray) and M-600.

The ceremony of laying the foundation of the new enterprise was attended by the Acting khokim of Samarkand region E.Turdimov.
