The first Uzbek-Afghan business forum of the building materials industry was held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are closely connected with dynamically developing and strengthening relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation. Diplomatic relations between the countries were established in 1992.

Recently, Uzbekistan has noticeably expanded bilateral ties with Afghanistan, has actively joined international efforts to resolve the Afghan problem. At the same time, the high dynamics of the Uzbek-Afghan relations is the result of a new foreign policy strategy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev set out its main provisions at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2017, during the Samarkand High Level Conference on Central Asia in November of that year, and at the consultative meeting of the heads of state of the region in Astana in March 2018 of the year.

A powerful impetus to the bilateral dialogue is given by the personal contacts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, which have become regular. Recently, five meetings were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev and the head of Afghanistan, Mr. A. Gani. The leaders of the two countries managed to establish a close and productive dialogue, to form trust channels of communication.

In this context, the official visit to Uzbekistan of the President of Afghanistan Mr. A. Gani last December, which became a truly historic event in bilateral relations, reinforcing a qualitatively new level of political interaction and practical cooperation between the two countries should be particularly noted.

Following the talks, the parties signed 20 joint documents affecting security, energy and transport, as well as 40 commercial contracts for half a billion dollars for the supply of building materials, food products, wheat, household appliances, motor vehicles, etc. to Afghanistan.

Relations between our countries are also dynamically developing in the trade and economic sphere.

Uzbekistan has more than 900 unique fields for the production of over 300 names and assortments of building materials, which allow us to significantly increase our turnover in the supply of building materials.

In order to meet the demand and saturate the consumer market of Uzbekistan with modern building materials and supply them to neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan pays special attention to the development of the production of building materials. A program of measures to develop the construction industry for 2017-2020 has been adopted.

One of the main tasks of the joint-stock company is to maintain a uniform policy in the production of building materials in the Republic of Uzbekistan, to ensure the implementation of the Complex of measures for the in-depth processing of local raw materials, to increase the volume and expand the range of production of competitive, export-oriented construction products, as well as to attract investments foreign direct investment. Also, the company conducts a unified scientific-technical and investment policy in the field of building materials in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In the system of the O'zqurilishmateriallari joint-stock company, there are enterprises for the production of cement and binders, glass, glassware and ceramic products, wall materials, mining and processing of natural stone and other building and finishing materials, as well as a design and research survey institute and geological exploration organizations.

Within the framework of the First Uzbek-Afghan Business Forum of the building materials industry, O'zqurilishmateriallari Joint-Stock Company, a building materials showroom was organized on the first floor of the building, where a wide range of building products of more than 100 names fr om 50 manufacturers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was presented.

Among them are cement, architectural and building glass (polished, hardened, of various colors), ceramic-facade and facing tiles of various sizes and coatings, a wide range of sanitary ceramics, dry construction mixtures, gypsum plasterboard, and other types of highly liquid building materials .

Also, it should be noted that unique types of construction products are presented, which have no analogues in Central Asia, such as artificial quartz sand stones, which have 90 types of different colors from the company “National Stone”, linoleum products of the company “Sanfa Product”, wallpaper by Pergament Quality Exclusive, ceramic tiles by LYUX GRANIT, sanitary ware by GRAND ART CERAMICS and Great Wall Ceramics, etc. It should be noted that these plants are unique producers of building materials in Central Asia.

Also, the Catalog of industrial products of building materials produced in Uzbekistan is presented, wh ere more than 100 product names with technical characteristics, conditions of their delivery and current average prices for the specified products are indicated.

In today's business forum, the participation of large construction companies in Afghanistan is actively expected. The O'zqurilishmateriallari joint-stock company will hold a presentation of the construction materials industry as well as B2B meetings between interested companies.

Uzbekistan is interested and in favor of further increasing trade and economic cooperation in the supply of high-quality building materials.
