Gypsum

Gypsum and its products known to be one of the most ancient minerals used in architecture, medicine, and of course in construction.

Gypsum is a very soft mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate, with the chemical formula CaSO4·2H2O. It is widespread in nature and is often found in salt deposits along with other minerals, including its anhydrous form (CaSO4) known as anhydrite. When heated under appropriate conditions, gypsum forms plaster of Paris.

The construction industry uses plaster being a fine powder made of gypsum stone by baking and subsequent grinding. There should be noted a number of characteristics of gypsum plaster, such as low thermal conductivity, low volume weight, good sound insulation, during solidification it does not smell and it is environmentally friendly, that is, it does not contain or emit any harmful substances, and has such a feature as breathability.

Plaster is very popular for plastering walls and ceilings in buildings, as well as in production of various products - gypsumboard, dry construction mixes and for many other products.
