In recent years, Uzbekistan’s construction sector has been developing rapidly, leading to increased demand for building materials, including glass. This growth is reflected both in the activities of local manufacturers and in the volume of imports.
Currently, three large plants operate in the country with a total annual capacity of 59 million m². Specifically, JSC “Kvarts” - 32.2 million m², LLC “Zarafshon oyna” - 16.8 million m², and JV LLC “Mingyuan silu industry” - 10 million m².

In 2024, domestic demand for construction glass amounted to 57.7 million m². Of this, 13%, or 7.5 million m², was covered by imports. It is noteworthy that compared to 2023, the import volume increased by 1.3 million m².
Throughout 2024, local enterprises produced 44.3 million m² of glass. Of this, JSC “Kvarts” accounted for 20.8 million m², while LLC “Zarafshon oyna” produced 13.5 million m².
In the first half of the current year, production reached 22.2 million m², which is 13% or 4.7 million m² more compared to the same period last year. In particular, JSC “Kvarts” produced 6.5 million m², and LLC “Zarafshon oyna” - 8.6 million m² of glass.

Construction glass imports mainly come from neighboring countries. In 2024, the total import volume was 7.5 million m². Of this, 42% (3.2 million m²) came from Kyrgyzstan, 30% (2.2 million m²) from Kazakhstan, and 11% (0.8 million m²) from Turkmenistan.
These figures clearly indicate that demand for construction glass in Uzbekistan is growing year by year. Although local production demonstrates a positive growth trend, imports continue to play a significant role in meeting market needs. Therefore, expanding production capacity, introducing modern technologies, and improving the quality of domestic products remain priority tasks.
