Yesterday, Jizzakh region became the venue for another prestigious forum. In cooperation with “Basalt Uzbekistan” and the Association “Uzsanoatqurilishmateriallari”, an international conference was held under the theme: “Development of Basalt Production in the Republic of Uzbekistan and Neighboring Countries.”
The forum brought together representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State Committee for Automobile Roads, regional administrations, as well as professors and scholars from leading research institutes.

At the outset, participants were provided with detailed information about the activities of “Basalt Uzbekistan,” its product range, and the cluster’s potential. The company annually processes 177,000 tons of basalt stone, producing special fibers and more than 42 types of innovative products. Remarkably, about 80% of its output is exported to the USA, the UK, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
Currently, 17 basalt deposits have been identified in Uzbekistan, with total reserves of 345.9 million tons of raw material suitable for mineral fiber production. Licenses have already been issued for the development of 82% of these deposits, while work continues on the rest. Major reserves are located in Jizzakh (30.3 mln tons), Karakalpakstan (2.2 mln tons), Navoi (2.6 mln tons), Namangan (310.6 mln tons), and Samarkand (0.2 mln tons) regions.

During the forum, participants discussed the prospects for producing construction materials based on basalt. Issues such as product quality improvement, laboratory testing and certification, and logistics were addressed. Presentations highlighted international standards, cutting-edge technologies, and modern equipment.
Particular interest was sparked by the recommendations of scientists aimed at enhancing the physical and mechanical properties of basalt products. This once again underscored the importance of collaboration between science and industry, as well as the need to strengthen innovation within production facilities.
The event gathered major contractors, construction companies, design institutes, along with domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. For them, the forum became a valuable platform for obtaining useful insights, securing beneficial agreements, and engaging in productive dialogue.

As part of the program, a press tour was organized for the media and the general public. Journalists and scientists had the opportunity to observe the process of manufacturing construction materials from basalt firsthand.
In conclusion, the international forum held in Jizzakh not only marked a significant step forward in the development of the basalt industry, but also showcased Uzbekistan’s tremendous potential in the field of innovative construction materials.
