Within the framework of implementing the tasks set out by Resolution No. 573 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted in 2023, as well as the instructions given at meetings chaired by the Honorable President, another modern industrial enterprise has been launched in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
In particular, in the small industrial zone of Nukus city, a project for the production of heat-insulating mineral boards made from basalt stone has been successfully implemented by LLC “Qoraqalpoq Basaltwool” under the “Industrial Mortgage” program. The project was realized in cooperation with the bank’s investment company “SQB Capital.” The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes, heads of sectoral organizations, and representatives of the general public.

The total cost of the project amounts to USD 63.2 million, of which USD 21.1 million was financed from the initiator’s own funds, while USD 42.1 million was provided through a bank loan. The enterprise has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons and is designed to manufacture modern and competitive products.
It is worth noting that within the framework of the project, high-tech equipment manufactured in European countries such as Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic was supplied and put into operation. This significantly contributes to improving product quality and enhancing export potential.

As a result of the project’s full commissioning:
• additional value worth UZS 200 billion will be created;
• products worth USD 10 million will be exported;
• approximately UZS 30 billion will be contributed to the state budget;
• around 300 new jobs will be created.
Moreover, this project will fully meet the domestic demand of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for thermal insulation materials and will create a solid foundation for increasing the region’s exports of construction materials by at least three times.

This project represents an important step toward the development of the construction materials industry, strengthening the economic potential of the regions, and ensuring employment.
