In recent years, Samarkand region has become one of the fastest-growing territories in our country’s construction materials industry. The modernization of its mineral and raw materials base, implementation of large investment projects, active attraction of foreign capital, and rising production of high-value finished goods are elevating the region’s industrial development to a new stage.
In 2024, business entities in Samarkand region produced construction materials worth 6.8 trillion UZS.
In January–October of the current year, this figure reached 6.2 trillion UZS, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.
This demonstrates effective management of the region’s raw material reserves, technological renewal, and a growing inflow of investments.
Samarkand region is home to 211 non-metallic mineral deposits, 145 of which are actively being developed.

The region’s mineral reserves include significant volumes:
- 361.5 million tonnes of cement raw materials
- 174.7 million cubic meters of decorative natural stone
- 136.1 million cubic meters of construction stone
- 66 million tonnes of gypsum and anhydrite
- 3.7 million tonnes of limestone
These indicators position Samarkand as a strategic raw-materials region not only within Uzbekistan but across all of Central Asia.
By the end of 2025, the region plans to implement 36 investment projects worth $334.2 million, resulting in the creation of 1,255 new jobs.
To date, 32 projects worth $300 million have already been launched.
In the city of Samarkand, the joint venture Prime Ceramics LLC commissioned a project worth $10.6 million aimed at expanding production capacity to 3 million m² of ceramic tiles per year.
Furthermore, in 2026, the region will implement 45 investment projects totaling $339 million, creating 1,987 new jobs.
In 2024, Samarkand exported construction materials worth $125 million, and in 2025 this figure is expected to reach $154 million.
In January–October 2025 alone, exports amounted to $144 million.
For reference, during the same period the region exported:
- metal products — $109 million
- ceramic goods — $10.9 million
- cement — $9.7 million
- stone products (marble and granite) — $3.5 million
- PVC and plastic goods — $3.1 million
- wallpaper and other paper products — $2.9 million, as well as other construction materials.
With new and ongoing projects, the export volume is expected to reach $239 million in 2026.
Under the localization program, Samarkand plans to produce 605 billion UZS worth of localized products in 2025.
In January–October of this year, the region produced localized products worth 527 billion UZS, marking 24% growth compared to the same period last year.
In 2026, the volume of localized production is expected to increase to 720 billion UZS.

The large-scale projects being implemented, the region’s rich raw-material base, participation of international companies, and the expanding geography of exports are transforming Samarkand into one of the most prominent industrial centers in Central Asia.
The expansion of ceramic, cement, stone products, microcalcite, construction mixtures, ferroalloys, and paint-and-coating production in 2025–2026 will elevate the region’s economic potential to a new level.
Ongoing reforms and investment initiatives are strengthening Samarkand’s status as a major construction industry hub not only in Uzbekistan, but across the entire region.
