Tashkent – united entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan!

A business meeting between representatives of the private sectors of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan was held in the capital city at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The event brought together 80 entrepreneurs from Afghanistan and more than 200 company representatives from Uzbekistan. The meetings were organized in seven key sectors: food industry, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics, and auto parts.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, Deputy Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment Aryan Azimi Khoji Mohammad Alem, and Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan Maulavi Abdul Ghaffor Bahr.

It was noted that throughout 2025, over 120 Uzbek companies took part in events held in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, resulting in the signing of contracts worth more than 60 million USD. Notably, following the business forum held in Kabul in August, over 45 agreements were reached.

Uzbekistan’s Trade Houses are actively operating in the Afghan market. In particular, the Trade House in Kabul features a showroom and warehouse offering construction materials and food products, while the Trade House in Mazar-i-Sharif specializes in pharmaceutical and electrical products.

As of the end of 2024, the foreign trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 1.134 billion USD — a 30.7% increase compared to 2023. The positive trade balance reached 1.044 billion USD.

Within the framework of the meeting, B2B negotiations were also held to discuss expanding trade cooperation, implementing joint projects, investment initiatives, and increasing Uzbekistan’s export potential in the Afghan market. In particular, discussions were held on exporting construction materials such as cement, gypsum board, aluminum profiles, and dry mixtures to Afghanistan, along with presentations of new types of innovative products produced in Uzbekistan.
